Refs threaten to boycott Division One League
The Referees Association of Ghana has threatened to boycott matches in the second tier league after two referees were attacked last week.
Referees who officiated in two Division One League matches played in Cape-Coast and Kintampo were attacked by fans after the games.
The Referees Association is asking for maximum protection before and after League matches.
"The problem is that every team wants to win at home and that is becoming increasingly worrying and that is an obstacle. What happened at the weekend was bad and must be condemned and if fans do not chase their attitude we will advice ourselves,” Albert Agbovi, Chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana said.
