Ayew denies Zamalek quit reports
Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Ayew has denied reports that he has threatened to quit Egyptian giants Zamalek over unpaid wages and bonuses; pledging his commitment to the club.
The 23-year-old who is owed for the month of October has rubbished reports he has given the five-time African champions a two-day ultimatum.
Ayew joined Zamalek last summer from Sekondi Eleven Wise on a five-year-deal and it is feared he might suffer a similar fate like compatriot Junior Agogo.
"I have never spoken of my intention to quit or abrogate my contract. I tried to seek more explanation from the journalist who wrote the story but I wasn't successful but the bottom of the matter is that I will not quit Zamalek," Ayew told Ghanasoccernet.com
"Some of these things happen and in recently Laryea Kingston's club had the same problem and I think we have to get something clear, I don't want to quit the club.
"I'm a professional and am keeping my focus of playing for the club and not to be distracted by such calls. Only time will tell and I know what at stake in my career."
Ayew has scored a goal in five appearances for Zamalek who are struggling to find their feet in the Egyptian Premier League.
