CHIC Liquid Vinyl Celebrated
A COMPLETE vinyl coating system that lasts longer than conventional paint applications has eventually found its way onto the Ghanaian market with a unique record of beautifying and protecting the exterior walls of homes and commercial buildings.
Kofi Boateng, President of CHIC Ghana Limited, who delivered a speech to members of the Architectural Engineering Services Limited (AESL) yesterday in Accra, said many customers had expressed satisfaction with the quality of the application, especially its beautiful colours, breathability and extreme protection against weather conditions.
“CHIC Liquid Vinyl is not paint, but a co-polymer coating system that provides a beautiful and easy to clean surface. It can last up for 25 years.
“The advantage of the product to home owners is that they only need to rewash their buildings when they turn dusty or dirty to immediately regain its brightness,” he observed.
Mr Boateng added: “In 24 years, the CHIC Liquid Commercial System has been successfully used to protect over 7000 homes including commercial and industrial buildings around the globe. We are the sole independent authorised distributor of CHIC Liquid Vinyl System in Africa.”
The product can be used for various building projects including schools, churches, national monuments, warehouses, office buildings, apartment blocks, a lighthouse and several high-rise towers, among others.
Originally developed in Britain in the 1960's, the product was acquired by Stan Bender, a Canadian expert in the exterior home improvement business in 1983.
This led to the founding of the Canadian Home Improvement Centre in Vancouver BC in Canada in 1984.
Mr. Bender testified that CHIC Liquid Vinyl System fills extremely thick cracks in buildings, sealing rain and moisture instantly.
“CHIC also allows walls to expand and contract without the return of any cracks. It is impervious to wind driven rain and resists mildew growth.
“It has a solid protection from damaging ultra violet radiation while it also resists both premature ageing and fading of colour,” he added.
CHIC is a non-toxic formula that contains heavy metal fungicides and it is environmentally friendly. Available in all colours, the product meets strict international Leeds standard for volatile organic compound (VOC) emission and has less by-products.
