Nigeria Eagle Still The Best Airline
NIGERIA EAGLE Airlines retained its position as the number one carrier at the just-ended Nigeria Aviation Awards (NIGAV) and Akwaaba African Travel Market (AFTM), which recognize outstanding performance by individuals and corporate organizations in Nigeria's aviation and tourism sectors.
The two institutions separately adjudged Dapo Olumide, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nigeria Eagle Airlines as the Airline CEO of the Year and awarded him accordingly.
Receiving the awards, Captain Olumide expressed appreciation to the organizers of NIGAV, Abuja and AFTM, Lagos for recognising the modest efforts of his management team that had turned the company into a safe, profitable and efficient business model.
He also lauded the transparent nomination process of both organizations, stressing that the awards would serve as a reference point in the industry.
“The society at large is watching the strides that Nigeria Eagle Airlines have attained so far. We will not rest on our oars, but rather challenge ourselves to introduce innovative and costumer-centric products,” he said.
Capt Olumide was adjudged the best CEO, following the visionary leadership class that he introduced at the airline. He was particularly applauded for revamping Virgin Nigeria and turning around the fortunes of the airline through his management class, which birthed Nigerian Eagle Airlines.
Nigeria Eagle Airlines, which celebrates the best of African heritage, has within a short time, set a pace in Africa's aviation by going into partnership with other successful African carriers.
Recently, it signed a landmark Technical Services Agreement (TSA) with Ethiopian Airlines, signaling a healthy cooperation with Ethiopian Airlines to provide crew and training for pilots, maintenance and resource pooling as well as technical oversight functions.
