Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom - Controversial?
There is no doubt that Reverend of the Miracle Worship Centre at Ahenema-Kokoben in the Ashanti Region has a large following who throng the worship centre daily to seek his help in spiritual matters.
His appearance on Metro TV every Saturday morning and on a daily programme on his radio station, New Radio Mercury, has, indeed, made him popular.
Some of the miracles he has performed in Kumasi and Accra which have received a lot of publicity and the testimonies by people who have allegedly been healed by him have made him an extremely popular person.
The offertory given to the church on a daily basis by souls who visit to collect holy water and anointing oil at between GH¢20 to GH¢50 have equally made him rich and now he is planning to set up another radio station in Accra and a television station in Kumasi.
However, his temperament and the propensity to curse his perceived adversaries are what many people detest about him and complain about.
As a church leader, most Ghanaians expect him to follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was very humble, kind, forgiving and, above all, simple and a role model for all.
On the contrary, Rev Adarkwa Yiadom’s quarrel with another man of God and his pronouncements on TV and radio have left many Christians flabbergasted and wondering why he has no patience, as a Man of God, for people who crosse his path.
The claim by both Rev Adarkwa Yiadom and Bishop Daniel Obinim of the International Godsway Church, based at Kenyasi Bosore, a suburb of Kumasi, to have rid a traditional priest, Musa, of his demonic powers through their intervention is the bone of contention between the two.
Next week, we will look at what others, such as pastors and the Pentecostal association, think about the quarrel between the two men of God and its implication on the two and present additional material by our colleague, Seth Boateng of Joy FM.
