Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Charges On Prez Mills
The editor-in-chief for the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Mr. Kwaku Baako has charged on President Mills to tackle the economic problem confronting Ghana instead of seizing toilet, cars, talking about ex-ministers and their bungalows, and making what he called “certain unnecessary comments.”
Expressing his sentiments on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show, Mr. Abdul Malik Baako said, there are more serious issues confronting this country, like our economy, sanitation and potable water that President Mills needs to address, instead of him chasing people who are using government cars and comparing the entourage of the previous government to the one on his recent trip to London. He said he was interested to know the benefits the country would gain from President Mills' trips. He cited ex-president Kufuor's visit to Japan during his tenure in office and said that his trip brought lots of benefits to Ghana, because he got the Japanese government to turn over our $80million loan into a grant.
He explained that he was part of the government's entourage to the UK as a journalist when ex-president Kufuor was going to receive the Chatham House award on 29th October 2009, and not as a friend to the ex-president, so he sees nothing wrong with that. Mr. Baako was speaking in reaction to today's Daily Democrat newspaper story headlined “Kufuor Went To UK With 47 People” - which included Mr. Kwaku Baako, Gina Blay, Haruna Atta, Secretaries, drivers and a host of others.
