GMA Marks Tenth Anniversary

Mrs Theresa Ayoade - MD, Charter House As part of activities marking ten years of the institution of the Ghana Music Awards (GMA), Charterhouse has lined up a number of events for the occasion.

The maiden edition of the Ghana Music Awards, which has come to be widely known as the authentic awards event for the music industry in Ghana was held in 1999 and has grown to become a festival of music.

The GMA which sees the honouring of Ghanaianmusic industry professionals for their dedication and talents has encouraged growth in the music industry.

Patrons also look forward to the event as the most glamorous event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar.

As organisers of the Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse, prepare to put out an impressive event this year, a brainstorming session involving seasoned musicians, producers, members of the media and the organisers has already begun.

Those taking part in the brainstorming process include Carlos Sekyi, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Fred Kyei Mensah and Panji Anoff. The media was represented by Bola Ray of Joy Fm, Sammy Forson of Citi Fm, Jon Germain of Allo Tigo fame and Kwame Faakye of Atlantis Radio.

The decision reached by this committee would form the basis on which this year's awards would be distributed.
