Pastors Trade Blows
The Freedom and Justice Garden, near the Nkrumah Circle, where the Obra Spot is situated, was on Wednesday July 23, 2008 turned into a boxing arena when two men of God allegedly exchanged blows in the presence of a group of people who had gathered to listen to the word of God.
Pastor Charles Anokye (aka Pastor One touch) and Pastor Attah, both mobile preachers, exchanging blows over speakers the former had borrowed from the latter five months ago.
According to an eye witness who spoke to the DAILY GUIDE, Pastor One Touch was preaching at the Freedom Garden on Wednesday when Pastor Attah who was in the company of Police officers approached him and demanded his speakers he had lend him to the dismay of the people who were listening to his preaching.
According to the eye witness, Pastor One Touch upon seeing Pastor Attah and the police approaching, told the people that if he is arrested by any police, they should not worry because he was not a thief.
“The discussion between Pastor One Touch and his colleague together with the Police officers did not go well with him so he started insulting them. An action which resulted in a fierce fight between the two Pastors”, he said.
He said, even though some of the people with Pastor One Touch allegedly attacked Pastor Attah the Police intervened.
Pastor Attah when contacted by DAILY GUIDE revealed that, Pastor One Touch, somewhere in March of this year, borrowed his speakers worth GH¢150 with a promise to return it within two weeks .
He said the two weeks turned to months and somewhere in May, he called him to return the speakers but that fell on deaf ears.
“On the several occasions that I contacted him to return the speakers he came up with different stories; sometimes he would claim he was in Kumasi, at other times Koforidua or Kasoa, even though I knew all the time that he was in Accra,” he said.
According to Pastor Attah, some where last month, he saw his Pastor friend at the Nkrumah Circle where he approached him but instead of giving the speakers to him, he asked him to send some boys to come for the speakers and when the boys got there he refused to hand over the speakers to them.
He continued that when all attempts to retrieve the speakers proved futile, he told his boys to mount a search on his friend and on that faithful Wednesday, he informed the Police about the case after one of them had informed him that Pastor One Touch was preaching at the Holy place, where the incident took place.
He averred that the Police couldn't arrest the Pastor because immediately he realized the seriousness of the case after attacking him, he gave all his mobile phones to the Police and promised to hand over the speakers the following day.
Meanwhile, sources said, the so called Man of God, Pastor One Touch, returned the speakers the following day as promised.
Meanwhile, Pastor One Touch who was furious when he learnt that a reporter from DAILY GUIDE was at the scene and had written a report on the incident called the DAILY GUIDE OFFICE, blasted the staff and the demanded to put some sense in the head of the Managing Editor, Mrs. Gina Blay.
“Why, don't you people have anything doing than interfering in people's affairs?”, he questioned and threatened that if the reporter published the story, he will become a cripple for life within three days.
He also asked the media house to mind its own business since the problem had nothing to do with it.
“Are you the one to judge me,” he added.
