Ghana Deserves Better — Nduom
The flag bearer of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, has said Ghana deserves better than what political leaders have delivered so far since Dr Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown.
The CPP, he said, was the only reliable alternative which must be given the mandate to govern the country to prosperity.
“Our CPP's desire is to move away from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) policies in order for real change to happen.
Dr Nduom was addressing an expectant crowd at the Obuasi AGA club house on Wednesday night.
He was accompanied by Mr David Ampofo, Communication Director of CPP; Mr Francis Owusu Boamah, CPP parliamentary aspirant for the Asokwa-Adansi Constituency; and Mr Ali-Khaj Alhasan, Public Relations Officer.
Mr David Kenyah, Assembly Member for Tiatiaso-Tutuka Electoral Area and Chairman for the Works Subcommittee of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly who was introduced as the CPP parliamentary candidate for Obuasi.
The flag bearer said it was only the CPP government that created jobs for the masses and since the 1966 military coup, no successive government had ever done such.
He recounted a number of projects Dr Nkrumah established at Wenchi, and Nzema and many other areas, which “are now white elephants” scattered all over the country.
He praised the NDC and NPP for doing their lot for the country but added that their lot was not enough.
Dr Nduom said that after these parties the CPP, which would get the nod to transform Ghana, would give hope to all our people.
He said the average person would be the beneficiary of the parties programmes and policies, adding that the status quo politics of hate, polarisation and destruction of people's hard-won reputation should be a thing of the past.
Dr Nduom affirmed that he had no doubt that his detractors would agree with him that he had made significant contribution both in Parliament and outside for the good of the nation and, therefore, was the right person to be the next president.
He said some mineral reserves needed to be kept in areas such as Obuasi, Akwatia and Tarkwa where the mineral was mined for the development of those communities.
“My message is true, positive and stays on course. Vote for CPP, the nation's pacesetter to enable us to complete the unfinished business in helping to improve the quality of life of our people through the various development projects which were unparalleled efforts and achievements of Dr Nkrumah.”
