Abedi Debunks Speculations
Abedi Ayew Pele, Ghana's soccer maestro who is bankroller and owner of Nania FC, a Division One side, has debunked speculations making rounds that he wants to be a Member of Parliament (MP).
Abedi explained that he respects politicians but he is not in any way eyeing any political office, but rather he wants to continue helping young footballers to attain their dreams of becoming great stars just like himself.
He was reacting to a publication in one of the private newspapers in the country which linked him to the Ayawaso West Wogon seat, which has Mrs Frema Opare as its sitting MP.
The maestro emphasised this when DAILY GUIDE SPORTS had an interview with him concerning the publication. He added that he is content with his involvement and contributions to sports especially football.
As an Ambassador of South Africa 2010, he cannot afford to have a divided attention, Abedi said.
He was three times African footballer of the year, and played for Olympic Marseille in France; Italy based Torino and 1860 Munich from Germany before his successful career came to an end.
