President Kufuor to feature in African Leaders State of Africa Report 2007
President John Agyekum Kufuor, is one of 15 African leaders to be represented in the Boston University's “African Leaders State of Africa Report 2007. A statement issued in Accra says Presid ent Kufuor has been invited to participate in the report, which features the visions and strategies of Heads of State, for a sixth time in 2007.
The programme, scheduled to take place at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg this month would also feature other African countries including Benin, Botswana, Cape Verde, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali South Africa and Zambia. The statement said Director of African Presidential Archives and Research Centre at Boston University (APARC) and former US Ambassador to Tanzania Charles Stith, would travel to eight African nations with the official release of the African Leaders State of Africa report 2007.The Research Centre at Boston University is a resource for fostering efforts at free-market reforms and democratisation in Africa.
A repository for the papers of former and current African leaders, it offers a residency programme for former democratically elected Heads of State and would host an annual African Presidential Roundtable in April. The African Leaders State Report is one of APARC's core projects and provides selected African leaders a forum to address the world about the goals, programmes and policies of their respective countries. This is the sixth edition of the Report jointly funded by Coca-Cola Africa and USIAD.
