SEE WHAT YOU WANT, GET WHAT YOU SEE: How To Use Visualisation To Create Your Future In Ghana
“See what you want, get what you see. Your eyes may look at today, but your vision must live in tomorrow.” – Abundant Robert K. AWOLUGUTU
The Maanyoro Archer Story
In Manyoro, no one goes for an archery contest without preparation. The old master closes his eyes for 5 minutes to visualise the target.
The inexperienced ones laugh. He opens his eyes and shoots a bullseye. He says, “I shot it twice – once in my mind, once with my bow. The first shot always wins.”
My own life is a testament to visualization. I pictured myself as a writer before I wrote 200+ articles. My Golden Sunrise brand was just an idea before it became a reality. I lived this law.
Core Law: Everything is created twice – first is mental creation, second is physical creation. Whatever is in your mind can become reality in your life.
WHY PEOPLE SEE WHAT THEY DON’T WANT
The youth in Ghana watch TV, and the screens greet them with horror: accidents, poverty, quarrels and wars. They plant fear pictures in their minds.
The human mind is like farmland. Whatever picture you water, grows. Water success, and it becomes reality. Water failure, and it also becomes reality.
A farmer who sees drought every day gets drought in his mind, so he stops planting. He complains of poor harvest, but his thoughts brought it about.
WHAT VISUALISATION REALLY MEANS
Visualisation is the most underutilized success tool we possess. It is not wishful thinking; it is mental rehearsal with feeling. You picture what you want and behave as if you already have it.
Remember the 3 power connection – eyes + mind + Heart. See it clearly, believe it deeply, feel it joyfully. This accelerates goal achievement.
According to science, the brain does not know the difference between a vivid picture and real experience. Athletes use it. Musicians, sculptors, and public speakers use it to achieve great results.
I visualize my articles transforming lives even before I put thoughts on paper.
THE 7 STEPS TO SEE WHAT YOU WANT, GET WHAT YOU SEE
- Be Still – The Golden Sunrise Hour
Visualisation needs silence. Early morning, before noise. My brand is The Golden Sunrise – I stay awake to write while others sleep.
I list the most important things to achieve. I spend 10 minutes visualizing. The brain’s Reticular Activating System then turns your current reality into the new exciting vision.
ACTION: 10 minutes each morning, no phone, eyes closed
- Get A Clear Picture – The Photo Album
You cannot hit a target you cannot see. Vague wants get vague results. Create a compelling and vivid picture: exact car, house, book, cover, amount of money, bags harvested.
Ask: What do you really want? Money? How much? Write the exact figure! Car? State the type and colour.
Action: Write one clear picture of your goal today.
- Put Feeling Into It – The Heart Glue
Pictures without feeling are dead. Feel happy about the pictures in your mind. Behave as if you already have it.
Remember The Law of Increase: Praise is feeling! When you visualize and praise, results multiply.
Action: Smile, bless, and thank God while visualizing.
- Keep A Vision Board – The Dream Board
Cut pictures or print photos of your goals. Stick them on a vision board and watch dreams manifest.
Ghana example: A market woman puts a picture of her dream shop on her mirror.
Action: Buy a 10 cedi cardboard and paste 5 pictures of your dream.
- Speak What You See – The Mouth Paints
Use affirmations as a tool of manifestation. Say what you see and feel: “I am a bestselling author.” “My farm yields 100 bags.”
Stop speaking what you see today – start speaking what you want tomorrow.
Action: Recite 3 affirmations daily.
- Act Like You Already Saw It – The Rehearsal
Dress like the successful person you want to be. Speak, walk, and work like him. Your life moves in the direction of your clearest picture. See poverty, get poverty. See plenty, get plenty.
I wrote daily before I became a known author – I lived my vision!
Action: Do one thing today that your future self will thank you for.
- Thank God Before It Arrives – Faith Sees
Cap visualization with thanksgiving. Vision is seeing things before they happen. Faith is seeing the unseen. Hebrews 11: 1 – Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
My mantra: “God is great. Thanks for granting me wisdom to write articles.” I saw wisdom before I put thoughts on paper.
Action: End each visualization with “Thank you, Lord, it is done.”
THE TWO FARMERS – Visualisation Version
In Manyoro, there are two farmers, Abayagi and Abasei. Every morning, Abayagi sees drought and says, “No rain this year.” He plants small and harvests small.
Every morning, Abasei sees bumper harvest, thanks God, and plants big with excitement. His harvest is big. He and his family rejoice.
Same land, different vision. Same land, different results.
Moral: Land is Ghana, seed is work, but vision is rain.
COMMON MISTAKES THAT KILL VISUALISATION
- Complaining about what you see after visualizing – it nullifies it.
- Visualising once and forgetting – no watering.
- Telling your vision to detractors – Manyoro proverb: Don’t show your bow and arrow to your enemy before battle.
- Seeing success and not doing work – visualisation without action is daydreaming.
CONCLUSION -Your Future Is A Picture In Your Mind
Challenge: For 21 days, spend 10 minutes every morning visualizing the life you want. I am living proof: I envisioned 200+ articles when I had 0. Today, it is reality.
Call-to-Action: Close your eyes now - what do you see? That could be your reality 6 months from now.
