Regentropfen University College seeks to create change and make lasting impact – Founder
The Founder and President of Regentropfen University College (RUC), Rev. Fr. Dr. Moses Asaah Awinongya, SVD, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to creating meaningful change and making a lasting impact through education, entrepreneurship and community development.
He made the remarks during the university college’s 10th anniversary celebration at its campus in Kansoe, in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region.
The anniversary was celebrated under the theme, “From Vision to Reality: A Decade of Promoting Talents and Shaping Future Minds,” highlighting the institution’s journey over the past decade and its ambition to expand educational opportunities and develop the potential of young people.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Awinongya’s vision reflects his belief that universities must go beyond awarding certificates to equip students with practical skills, encourage innovation and prepare graduates to contribute to the development of their communities.
Regentropfen University College has emphasised practical skills, entrepreneurship and innovation as important components of its approach to higher education, with the broader goal of preparing students to create employment opportunities rather than depend solely on existing jobs.
The founder’s vision also aligns with his ambition to make tertiary education a catalyst for development in the Upper East Region, where expanding educational and professional opportunities remains essential to community advancement.
As part of its long-term development ambitions, the institution has also considered expanding its academic offerings to strengthen professional training and improve access to higher education in northern Ghana.
The anniversary celebration was attended by the Upper East Regional Minister, who represented the Vice President of Ghana, the Member of Parliament for Bongo, Lawyer Charles Bawa Dua, and the Bongo District Chief Executive, Madam Diana Ayamga.
Also present were members of the university’s Governing Council, community members, management, staff and students, who gathered to commemorate the institution’s achievements and reflect on its future direction.
