Mahama visits Ahafo Region to inspect development projects
President John Dramani Mahama will begin a two-day working visit to the Ahafo Region on Friday, October 9, as part of his Resetting Ghana Tour, with scheduled inspections of major infrastructure and agribusiness projects.
A key stop on the President’s itinerary will be the poultry, meat and feed processing facility at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality, which forms part of the region’s agricultural and industrial development efforts.
Mr Mahama is also expected to inspect the Tepa–Goaso Road project, being executed under the government’s Big Push Programme, and the Ntontroso Bridge, which links Acherensua, one of the region’s major food-producing areas.
The visit will be accompanied by several ministers, including Eric Opoku of Food and Agriculture; Kwame Agbodza of Roads and Highways; Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry; and Mahama Ayariga of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
Ahafo Regional Minister Charity Gardiner and other government officials are also expected to join the delegation.
The tour will conclude on Saturday, October 10, with a town hall meeting at the Victory Centre Assemblies of God Church in Goaso, where the President is scheduled to engage residents under the theme #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement with President Mahama.
The meeting is expected to provide chiefs and residents with an opportunity to raise concerns, offer feedback on government policies and outline development priorities for the region.
President Mahama and his delegation are also expected to brief participants on ongoing projects in Ahafo and key national interventions aimed at supporting development and local economic growth.
