Stop using radio airtime for greetings, talk about Mahama’s economy – Suhuyini to NDC serial callers
Hamza Suhuyini has urged NDC serial callers and supporters to make better use of radio and other public platforms by focusing on President John Dramani Mahama’s economic record instead of spending their limited airtime on greetings.
The NDC communications team member said party members who get opportunities to speak on radio should use those moments to explain the government’s economic performance in terms ordinary Ghanaians can understand.
“When you call into a radio station, instead of saying, I want to greet RCU, I want to greet the woman organizer, the national charmer, I want to greet you, spare that time. The NDC needs that time for you,” he said while addressing party supporters at an event.
“It doesn’t need it for greetings. Use it effectively, use that time and tell them that even if this topic is not related to the economy, start by thanking His Excellency President Mahama for the economic foundation he’s laying and the job that has been done together with his team and relate it to our people.”
Suhuyini said the party’s communicators should connect the government’s economic message to things people encounter in their daily lives rather than relying only on political arguments.
“Let them understand that, today we buy a bag of rice for 300, 250, 400 cedis. And the MPP, we used to buy at 600, 700, 800,” he said.
He believes such examples would make the government’s economic message more relatable to voters.
“People can relate to it. Our mothers can relate because they go to the markets and they see improvements,” he said.
