Anti-corruption fight has so far yielded positive results – PTAAM-Africa
The President of the Positive Transparency and Accountability Movement Africa (PTAAM-Africa), Ebenezer Havor, has commended what he describes as positive outcomes from Ghana’s fight against corruption.
He said sustained efforts to tackle corruption could help create the resources needed to address some of the country’s development challenges.
Mr Havor said Ghana must remain focused on improving essential public services and infrastructure while strengthening efforts to promote transparency and accountability.
In a social media post on Monday, August 31, Mr Havor said the country needed to channel its resources towards improving the living conditions of citizens.
“PTAAM-AFRICA, observations so far is that the fight against corruption is yielding a positive outcome, we can do it," wrote the anti-graft campaigner.
He identified education, healthcare, roads, water supply and electricity as key areas requiring greater attention.
“We need more schools, hospitals, good roads, constant flow of water and stable electricity supply as a country," he noted.
He said the progress made so far should encourage the country to intensify its efforts to ensure that the fight against corruption produces tangible benefits for citizens.
Mr Havor’s comments come amid renewed public discussions about Ghana’s efforts to tackle corruption and improve accountability in the management of public resources.
