Krobohene praises community for embracing Christianity after ancestral deity goes missing
The Krobohene, Nana Asa Akonpanin, has praised members of his community for embracing Christianity following the reported disappearance of an ancestral deity believed to have protected the town.
According to the chief, the deity, known as “Ani Koko Bosom,” was reportedly stolen, leaving the community questioning how it could continue to rely on the traditional god for protection.
Speaking to his subordinates, Nana Asa Akonpanin said the disappearance of the deity prompted him to consult with his elders on the way forward.
He explained that following discussions with the elders, a decision was taken for the entire community to turn to God and seek protection through prayer rather than continue worshipping the missing deity.
“The gods that were protecting this town have been missing. Someone has stolen the gods, so how can the gods protect the town? As a result, I consulted my elders and told them that the whole town should now worship God instead of the gods,” he said.
The chief further expressed satisfaction with what he described as positive changes in the community since the people began turning to the Almighty God and seeking divine intervention through prayers.
