SOEs swing from GHS2.25bn loss in 2024 to GHS19.8bn profit in 2025 – SIGA
Ghana’s State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) recorded a net profit of GHS19.8 billion in 2025, marking a sharp turnaround from the GHS2.25 billion net loss recorded in 2024.
The latest performance represents a significant reversal after the SOEs recorded losses for four consecutive years up to 2024.
The figures were disclosed by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a social media post on Monday, August 31, citing data from the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
“The State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) reports that in 2024, Ghana's SOEs recorded a total net loss of GHS 2.25 billion," he wrote in a social media post on Monday, August 31.
The SOEs also recorded a significant increase in revenue in 2025, rising from GHS137.64 billion in 2024 to GHS176.43 billion.
According to the figures, the increase represents a 28.12 per cent growth in revenue over the period.
The strong financial performance in 2025 also marks a major improvement from the years of consecutive losses recorded by the state-owned enterprises.
The figures come amid renewed efforts to improve the financial performance, governance and efficiency of Ghana’s state-owned enterprises.
