GES opens WAEC portal for 2026 school selection data upload

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the opening of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) portal for the online capturing and uploading of candidates’ school selection data for the 2026 placement exercise.

The portal was made accessible to Heads of Junior High Schools (JHSs) from Monday, August 24 to Thursday, August 27.

In a directive dated August 24, GES said headteachers who had not completed the uploading of candidates’ school choices on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal for pre-testing were required to do so by the close of work on Monday, August 24.

The Service said the headteachers must subsequently capture and upload the data on the WAEC portal.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform all Heads of Junior High Schools (JHSs) that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) portal for the online capturing and uploading of candidates' school selection data for the 2026 placement exercise will be available at www.casswaecinternetsolution.org from Monday, 24th to Thursday, 27th August 2026,” the statement said.

GES explained that the portal allows schools to use the same school identification number and password simultaneously on multiple computers.

According to the Service, the facility will allow schools with large numbers of candidates to capture and upload data concurrently.

It said the arrangement was intended to facilitate the timely and efficient completion of the exercise.

GES has also directed Metro, Municipal and District Directors of Education and Examination Coordinators to closely supervise the process.

They are expected to ensure that the data of all eligible candidates are captured, verified and submitted within the stipulated period.

“Regional Directors of Education are kindly requested to communicate this directive to all concerned within their respective jurisdictions and ensure strict compliance,” the Service said.
