Police to Roll Out 700 Digital Enrolment Stations Nationwide

The Ghana Police Service will roll out over 700 digital enrolment stations across the country by the end of the year as part of efforts to enhance crime detection, investigations and prevention.
The initiative is expected to boost intelligence‑led policing, giving officers improved access to digital tools and information for operational efficiency.
Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed‑Mubarak, announced the expansion on Friday, August 21, 2026, while opening the Police Regional Command Conference at the National Police Headquarters in Accra.
He said the digital enrolment stations form part of broader measures to leverage technology to strengthen policing and improve the Service’s capacity to prevent and investigate crime. The Minister also urged Regional Commanders to uphold high standards of leadership, accountability and professionalism, noting that public expectations of the security services continue to rise.
Mr. Mohammed‑Mubarak highlighted additional technology‑driven initiatives, including TRAFITECH, the automated road traffic enforcement system, and the National Criminal Automated Biometric Identification System.
Inspector‑General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, reiterated that Ghanaians expect a Police Service that is professional, visible, competent, fair and trusted. He encouraged Regional Commanders to provide strong leadership and deepen cooperation with other national security agencies to improve security nationwide.
The conference brought together members of the Police Management Board, senior officials from the Ministry of the Interior, the Medical Director of the Police Hospital, the Commandant of the Police Academy and Regional Police Commanders from across the country.
