COKA Urges NPP Executives to Return to Core Values and Rebuild for 2028

Newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), has called on constituency vice‑chairpersons across the region to return to the party’s foundational values of discipline, integrity, responsibility and hard work.

Addressing constituency executives in Kumasi, Mr. Appiah said the NPP’s historic appeal and electoral strength were built on these principles.

“I am urging all of us to go back to our roots, where we exemplified the ideals of discipline, integrity, responsibility and hard work,” he said.

He stressed the need for reconciliation, rebuilding party structures and mobilising supporters ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Appiah noted that the NPP lost more than 1.1 million votes in the Ashanti Region during the 2024 elections, attributing the decline mainly to low voter turnout rather than a major shift in political loyalty.

He therefore urged constituency vice‑chairpersons to work closely with their chairpersons and local executives to revive the party at the grassroots. The ongoing engagements, he said, aim to reconnect with disillusioned supporters and position the party’s 2028 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for victory.

Responding on behalf of the executives, S. O. Frimpong, Vice‑Chairperson for the Mampong Constituency, praised Mr. Appiah’s proactive approach to post‑election reconciliation. He said COKA’s outreach to his main opponent and other defeated aspirants demonstrated a commitment to inclusive leadership.

According to Mr. Frimpong, such efforts are essential for strengthening party cohesion and restoring confidence among NPP supporters in the region.

After meeting constituency executives, Mr. Appiah received courtesy calls from various stakeholder groups at his temporary office in Kumasi, including representatives of major market associations, the NPP Loyal Ladies, and radio morning show hosts.

They congratulated him on his election and encouraged him to implement the strategic vision he outlined during his campaign.

Mr. Appiah reiterated his call for sustained collaboration among party stakeholders to strengthen the NPP’s position in the Ashanti Region.
