Otumfuo Departs Kumasi for Two‑Week Working Visit to the United States
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Sunday, August 23, 2026, departed from the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi for a two‑week working visit to the United States ahead of the grand celebration of Akwasidae Kɛse.
The farewell ceremony was attended by distinguished members of Asanteman, including Nsuase Poku III, Akyeamehene; Kyeame Jachie Amoateng; Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, Asante Mamponghene; Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene; Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister; and Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi.
Other prominent personalities, along with members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), were also present to offer prayers and well‑wishes for a successful and impactful mission.
