COKA visits Kokofu after NPP Ashanti chairmanship victory, vows to unite party
Newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Asanteman COKA, has met his former contender, Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a day after winning the regional chairmanship election.
The meeting, according to COKA, forms part of efforts to unite and reorganise the party as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
Mr Appiah said the NPP was determined to return to power and would require the collective efforts of all party members to achieve that objective and secure victory for the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He stressed that unity would be central to rebuilding the party and strengthening its structures across the Ashanti Region.
“We are hungry for power, and nobody will be left behind. Together, we will unite, rebuild, and work for victory,” he said.
The new chairman also appealed to supporters of all candidates who contested the regional elections to put their grievances aside and rally behind the new leadership for the collective interest of the party.
Meanwhile, Dr Kokofu pledged his support for COKA and expressed his readiness to work with the newly elected chairman towards ensuring victory for the NPP’s presidential candidate in 2028.
He also wished COKA well as he begins his tenure as Ashanti Regional Chairman.
“Chairman, I wish you well,” Dr Kokofu stated.
