Open Letter To His Excellency Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar

Your Excellency,
I was just reading an online version of a Newspaper this morning and was perusing a story concerning a group that calls itself G100 that was supposed to hold a meeting of some selected so called opposition political parties and presidential candidates on the 18th of this August 2026,where they were saying that they were postponing their summit to the 31st of the month to give way for your peace meeting which is expected to come up on the 18th of August and I felt it is high time to call your attention to a few things of national importance.

Your Excellency, I have often wondered as to what are your real motives for the rituals you hold prior to all recent general elections in our country which you call peace summits.

We all are aware that the most critical periods when Nigerians manage to look earnestly at their political realities, our so called political parties, our candidates who in the most are opaque, clueless, intellectually totally empty and morally bankrupt are just prior to general elections like now but most unfortunately and incomprehensibly as soon as they are beginning to get ready to ask critical questions and demands answers you and your group come up with your so called peace Summits that only God Almighty knows what exactly you plan to achieve.

Your Excellency, permit me to most respectfully ask you a few questions.

1,Are you aware that our country Nigeria is already at war ?

At war with itself?
And that the number of fatalities recorded daily, weekly, monthly and yearly in our war is the most horrendous and horrifying in the world, the whole world currently?

That the fatalities in Palestine,in Ukraine plus in Iran when put together pale in comparison with the fatalities occasioned by insecurity in contemporary Nigeria?

2,Are you aware that some political parties in Nigeria demanded hundred million Naira for aspirants to pay just to collect forms for nominations if they aspired to run for presidency?

That some political parties demands up to fifty million Naira for aspirants for the office of Governors of states and national Assembly elections in a country where the minimum wage is less than a hundred thousand naira?

And that 99.9% of our Professors and lecturers in our Universities cannot afford to buy such forms?

3,Are you aware that what some people call Genocide against Christians is a misnomer and that what we really and factually have in Nigeria is Genocide against poor Christians,Poor Muslims, poor traditional religionists etc?

That the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary are at war with the poor masses of Nigeria and coming against them with everything at their disposal?

4,Are you aware that there is absolutely no fundamental differences between all the presidential candidates in Nigeria at the moment and that each time the press addresses them on their policy positions that the answers they give when any demonstrates beyond any doubt that their ideology are exactly the same and that in actuality ,all of them should belong to the same party?

5,Are you aware that the 1999 Constitution which you and your administration mid wifed and decreed into law is not only fatally defective in numerous fundamental respects but is actually a lie in its claim that started with: " we the people of Nigeria..."?

And that only a sovereign national conference by all the ethnic nationalities of Nigeria and other critical stakeholders in the country can meet, deliberate and fashion out a true constitution for our beloved and only country Nigeria?

6,Are you aware that the doctrine of checks and balances that is supposed to check the excesses of the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary under our operational so called Liberal Democracy has been utterly and disgustingly, unconstitutionally, unconscionably, immorally and most unpatriotically disjointed, dislocated and deformed in Nigeria most especially under the current administration?

7,Are you aware that currently the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary in Nigeria have practically fused themselves into a cartel and almost a cult and that the average citizen is bewildered , trapped and ostracized under such an unholy contraption and praying fervently for divine intervention to deliver them from the inexplicable quagmire and predicament where they have found themselves which is similar to the condition of Africans in slave holds of slave ships on their way out of Africa to the Americas during the transatlantic slave trade?

Your Excellency, please do not get me wrong.
We all desire Peace and pray for peace.
But with all due respects not the peace of the graveyard.

Your Excellency, you must be aware that the horrendous degree of looting of public resources in Nigeria is perhaps the worst in the whole world.

And that if just a fraction of the looted resources in the hands of our politicians and their collaborators in the civil service and local and foreign banks are recovered would be more than enough to ensure and provide completely free education ,free healthcare at least for all interested Nigerians.

It appears to me that you should please shelve your so called peace Summits and let Nigerians let the cats out of the bags and begin to search and demand the truth so we can begin to take real stock of our situation and begin to see how we can devise a system that works without which we are doomed forever.

No one is trying to fight.
At least not amongst our so called politicians who represent no one but their pockets.

If you must summon peace meetings let it be geared towards stopping the unbelievable and indefensible insecurity and looting of public resources that is steadily making us the laughing stock of humanity.

It is clear that the so called Liberal Democracy imposed on us by the western world to say the least is not working as your colleague Gen Olusegun Obasanjo had pointed out severally.

The tragedy of our situation is that we are so focused on the rubbish that has been going on for too long which we call elections.

The energy we spend on so called electoral reforms should clearly be channeled into political reforms.

As the first President of Nigeria,Rt.Hon.Dr.Nnamdi Azikiwe said;" show the light and the people will find the way.

Remain Blessed.
