Manhyia Palace bans unauthorised drone flights around palace

Manhyia Palace has imposed a ban on the unauthorised use and operation of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles within the palace and its surrounding areas.

The directive, announced in a notice published on the palace’s Facebook page on Saturday, August 15, takes immediate effect.

The palace said no drone flight or other aerial operation would be permitted within the designated area without prior and explicit approval from the palace or the appropriate authorities.

It warned that drones or other equipment used in violation of the directive could be confiscated.

The palace further cautioned that individuals who breach the directive could face legal action.

Drone operators and users of unmanned aerial vehicles have consequently been urged to obtain the required authorisation before undertaking any aerial activity within the restricted area.
