August 14: Cedi appreciates, sells at GHS12.30 on forex market, GHS10.99 on BoG interbank

The Ghanaian Cedi has appreciated in value against the US dollar on Friday, August 14, 2026, compared to the rates on Thursday.

It has recorded an average buying rate of GHS11.15, twenty pesewas appreciation and a selling rate of GHS11.90, eleven pesewas appreciation as compared to the rates on Thursday.

At forex bureaus, the Cedi is trading at GHS11.70 for dollar purchases and GHS12.30 for dollar sales.

On the Bank of Ghana interbank market, the cedi is trading at GHS10.97 for buying and GHS10.99 on the selling rates.

For the British pound, the average forex bureau rate stands at GHS14.97 for buying and GHS16.09 for selling, while the Bank of Ghana’s interbank rate for the pound is GHS14.83.

The Euro is also trading at GHS12.78 for buying and GHS13.76 for selling at forex bureaus, with an interbank rate of GHS12.67.

In the money transfer space, LemFi and Taptap Send are offering dollar rates of GHS11.35 and GHS11.00 for remittances from the US or UK to Ghana.

For the British pound, LemFi and Taptap Send are offering GHS15.34 and GHS14.96 respectively for remittances from the US or UK.

For the Euro, Taptap Send and LemFi have quoted GHS12.83 and GHS13.27 respectively for remittances from the US or UK to Ghana.

For digital subscription payments such as Netflix, Spotify, and Apple Music made via Visa and Mastercard, the exchange rate st ands at GHS11.83 each.
