NDC will not take lessons from NPP on economy — Joyce Bawah
A Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has dismissed calls for the government to take lessons from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on economic management.
She said the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) had made significant progress in managing the economy under President Mahama.
Her comments come amid recent criticism from the Minority Caucus in Parliament over the operations of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) and calls for President Mahama to investigate alleged financial losses.
In a social media post on Thursday, August 13, Mrs Bawah Mogtari said the NDC had no reason to take economic lessons from the NPP.
“As things stand now, and in view of the giant strides that this government led by President John Dramani Mahama and carefully and professionally managed by Cassiel Ato Forson we really shouldn’t be taking any lessons from any individual or individuals in the NPP on or about the economy or management of the economy,” she said.
