Air Commodore Atiemo assumes Command of Air Force Base Tamale
Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Atiemo has assumed command as the new Base Commander of Air Force Base Tamale following a formal handing-over ceremony held at the base on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The ceremony marked the official transfer of command and the assumption of Air Commodore Atiemo's additional responsibility as Commander of 6 Garrison.
He succeeds Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, whose tenure as Base Commander and 6 Garrison Commander came to an end following the ceremony.
Air Commodore Atiemo's assumption of office ushers in a new phase for Air Force Base Tamale, with the Ghana Air Force expecting his leadership to strengthen professionalism, operational effectiveness and discipline while ensuring effective command and control at the base.
