NSA sets August 14 deadline for defaulters, private candidates to apply for service PIN codes

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced Friday, August 14, as the deadline for defaulters and private candidates to apply for PIN codes for the 2026/2027 national service year.

The authority said the exercise is intended for Ghanaian citizens who completed tertiary education but were unable to enrol on the National Service Programme in previous years.

It said the registration also covers private candidates whose academic credentials have been certified by accredited tertiary institutions, as well as Ghanaian nationals who completed their studies abroad.

In a statement issued on Thursday, August 6, the NSA urged all eligible applicants to complete the online registration process and submit the required documents at its offices before the deadline.

"The Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) wishes to inform the general public that the deadline for the application of Pin-Codes for defaulters and private candidates for the 2026/2027 service year is Friday, 14th August 2026," the statement read in part.

The authority reminded prospective applicants that national service remains a legal obligation for qualified Ghanaian graduates under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119).

The NSA further advised eligible persons to take advantage of what it described as the final opportunity to regularise their status by submitting all required documents before the August 14 deadline.
