Afenyo-Markin donates 100 laptops to Effutu teachers under ‘One Teacher, One Laptop’ initiative

Member of Parliament for Effutu and Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has presented 100 laptops to teachers in the Effutu Municipality under his “One Teacher, One Laptop” initiative aimed at enhancing teaching and learning through digital technology.

According to the MP, the initiative was introduced in response to appeals from teachers for digital devices to improve lesson preparation, classroom instruction and overall efficiency.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Mr Afenyo-Markin reiterated his commitment to supporting teachers with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven educational environment.

“May this tool never sit idle in the bag. May it become the extension of your dedication; a device through which better lesson plans are born, faster results are recorded, and wider knowledge is accessed. Ultimately, a bright future is built for the children of Effutu,” he said.

He urged the beneficiaries to view the laptops as an investment in their professional growth and to use them to improve teaching standards and learning outcomes.

“I charge each one of you to see it as my personal investment in you and to see that investment yield returns in the form of better-prepared lessons, improved record-keeping and better outcomes under your care,” he stated.

Mr Afenyo-Markin also encouraged the teachers to make full use of the laptops to strengthen their instructional delivery and equip pupils with the knowledge and digital skills needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world.
