NDC gov't keeps deflecting when Ghanaians are suffering — Miracles Aboagye
Spokesperson to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer and aspiring National Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has criticised the Mahama administration.
The NPP communicator accused the National Democratic Congress administration of failing to address the hardships facing Ghanaians.
"This morning, a trotro driver is wondering whether to increase their fare or not. They can't be so sure cos they don't know how much the fuel price will be by close of day," Miracles Aboagye wrote in a social media post on Tuesday, August 4.
The NPP National Communications Director aspirant asserted that the uncertainty surrounding fuel prices continues to affect the daily decisions of commercial drivers despite the government's temporary intervention.
He argued that the economic challenges are also taking a toll on traders and farmers, insisting that the government has failed to confront the realities facing ordinary citizens.
"Market women are stressed, cocoa farmers are depressed and govt continues to deflect," he added.
Meanwhile, his comments come after President John Dramani Mahama directed a temporary GH¢2.00 reduction in the regulatory margin on diesel for one month to prevent an increase in transport fares following recent fuel price hikes.
The Presidency said the measure is intended to cushion consumers, contain inflationary pressures and reduce the impact of rising fuel prices on transportation and the cost of living.
