Farewell to Deputy Ambassador Sivine Jansen: A Tribute to Her Service in Strengthening Ghana-Germany Relations
It is time once again to bid farewell to a cherished colleague and friend of Ghana. The German Embassy in Accra says goodbye to its Deputy Ambassador, Sivine Jansen, as she departs after a tour of service marked by dedication to deepening ties between the two nations.
A Tenure of Broad Engagement
Sivine Jansen served as Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Ghana, a role in which she was engaged across a remarkably wide span of the bilateral relationship. Her work touched on cocoa sector transparency, gender and social protection, technical and vocational education, electoral peace and security, and academic exchange between the two countries.
Among her notable engagements, she visited Nanketewa in the Bono Region to observe the progress of the world's first nationwide cocoa traceability system, and toured agro-processing initiatives in Sunyani supported through German development financing aimed at strengthening farmer livelihoods and export competitiveness. She also championed German language education in Ghana, working with institutions such as the University of Education, Winneba, to expand academic and professional opportunities for Ghanaian students, and engaged schools in the Bono Region on language learning and vocational skills development.
On peace and security, she represented Germany's continued support for the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre's Election Violence and Security Course, reaffirming her government's commitment to free, fair, and peaceful elections in Ghana. She also accompanied Ambassador Daniel Krull on engagements with Ghana's Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, underscoring Germany's support for the country's gender equality and child protection agenda.
Tribute from Colleagues
In a farewell tribute, colleagues at the Embassy described her as an invaluable member of the team, citing her passion, commitment, and dedication to strengthening relations between Ghana and Germany. They noted that her leadership and professionalism had made it difficult to imagine the Embassy without her presence, and that it had been a pleasure working alongside her throughout her tenure.

As she embarks on a new chapter, the Embassy family extends its best wishes to Sivine Jansen and her family for continued success and fulfilment in the journey ahead.
