Damptey Family Donates 20 Laptops to Boost ICT Learning in Abomosu
The descendants of the late J. K. Damptey have donated 20 laptops and related accessories to the Abomosu Presbyterian Primary School as part of efforts to strengthen Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education and equip pupils with essential digital skills.
The donation was made possible through the generosity of Dr. Frederick Gyasi Damptey, a family member based in Germany, whose support enabled the acquisition of the computers.
The presentation was led by Mr. Frank Ayim Damptey, with support from Mr. Daniel Danquah Damptey and Mr. William Gyasi Damptey, who formally handed over the equipment to the school.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, the Headmaster, Mr. Alex Misah, expressed profound appreciation to the Damptey family for their generosity and commitment to education.
"This donation will significantly enhance the teaching and learning of ICT in our school. It will help prepare our pupils for the digital age and equip them with practical computer skills essential for their future. We are deeply grateful to the Damptey family for remembering their alma mater and investing in the education of our children," he said.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the Resident Minister of the Presbyterian Church, the Catechist, and the Senior Presbyter, who commended the family for its exemplary commitment to community development and educational advancement.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Frank Ayim Damptey said the donation reflects the family's enduring commitment to giving back to the community that nurtured their late father, J. K. Damptey. He noted that investing in education remains one of the most meaningful ways of empowering the next generation and contributing to national development.
