ARB Apex Bank more than doubles profit as assets surge to GH¢5.4 billion
ARB Apex Bank PLC has posted one of its strongest financial performances in recent years, recording total assets of GH¢5.40 billion and more than doubling its profit after tax to GH¢46.97 million in the 2025 financial year.
The results, announced at the Bank's 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Lancaster City Hotel in Kumasi on Saturday, reflect significant growth driven by improved liquidity, prudent financial management, operational efficiency and stronger collaboration with rural and community banks nationwide.
Presenting the Board's report, the Chairman, Mr Daniel Ohene K. Owusu, said the Bank's total assets rose by 136.8 per cent from GH¢2.28 billion in 2024 to GH¢5.40 billion at the end of 2025.
He attributed the remarkable growth to increased customer deposits, improved liquidity management and strategic investment decisions that strengthened the Bank's financial position.
Customer deposits also recorded substantial growth, rising by 143.1 per cent from GH¢2.11 billion in 2024 to GH¢5.13 billion in 2025.
According to Mr Owusu, the sharp increase in deposits reflects the continued confidence that rural and community banks have in ARB Apex Bank.
The Bank also expanded its lending portfolio, with loans and advances increasing by 47.9 per cent from GH¢121.97 million to GH¢180.34 million.
Mr Owusu explained that although lending growth was more moderate than in the previous year, it reflected a cautious credit expansion strategy designed to balance customer demand with prudent risk management.
Investment activities also recorded significant growth, with the Bank's investment portfolio increasing by 114.5 per cent from GH¢634.49 million to GH¢1.36 billion.
He said the strong investment performance, combined with disciplined expenditure management and improved operational efficiency, contributed to the Bank's impressive earnings.
Profit after tax rose from GH¢19.91 million in 2024 to GH¢46.97 million in 2025, representing an increase of 135.9 per cent.
Shareholders' funds also improved significantly, increasing from GH¢49.47 million to GH¢94.83 million, while accumulated losses declined from GH¢63.34 million to GH¢28.11 million, reflecting the Bank's continued financial recovery.
"The Bank's financial performance demonstrates the resilience of our business model and our unwavering commitment to supporting the growth of Ghana's rural and community banking sector," Mr Owusu said.
Beyond its financial performance, ARB Apex Bank continued to invest in corporate social responsibility initiatives, committing approximately GH¢580,000 to support the Association of Community Banks and its regional chapters.
The Bank donated a vehicle to strengthen the Association's administrative operations and provided financial assistance to its regional chapters to enhance their operational effectiveness.
Mr Owusu reaffirmed the Bank's commitment to expanding its corporate social responsibility programmes to promote institutional capacity building, industry development and sustainable socio-economic growth in communities served by rural and community banks.
The 2025 financial results further reinforce ARB Apex Bank's position as a key institution supporting Ghana's rural banking sector, with management expressing confidence that the Bank is well positioned for sustained growth in the years ahead.
