NYA CEO announces National Youth Clean-Up Exercise for August 1

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Abdulai Ayariga, has announced that the Authority will organise a nationwide National Youth Clean-Up Exercise simultaneously in all district capitals across Ghana on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

The exercise is scheduled to commence at 7:00 a.m. and forms part of the Authority's efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, civic responsibility and active youth participation in national development.

Mr. Ayariga called on all Ghanaians, particularly young people, to actively participate in the exercise by joining efforts to clean their communities and help create a healthier and safer environment.

He said the initiative underscores the NYA's commitment to mobilising young people for positive national action while fostering a sense of responsibility and volunteerism among the youth.

The NYA also appealed to community leaders, youth groups, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to support the nationwide exercise by encouraging broad participation within their respective communities.

According to the Authority, the National Youth Clean-Up Exercise is expected to take place simultaneously in all district capitals, demonstrating a united national effort to improve sanitation and strengthen community engagement through youth-led action.
