70-year-old woman murdered on way to church in Akyem Koforidua as police investigate

A 70-year-old woman has been found dead in Akyem Koforidua in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region after she reportedly went missing while on her way to church.

The deceased, a member of the Church of Pentecost, is said to have left her home on Sunday, July 26, 2026, to attend a morning church service but never returned, sparking concern among her family and members of the community.

After efforts to locate her proved unsuccessful, a search was launched. The search ended in tragedy when her lifeless body was discovered in a nearby bush under suspicious circumstances.

The circumstances surrounding her death have raised fears among residents, with many suspecting she may have been murdered.
