DJ K.A Pulled Off Air as Kessben Probes Leaked Intimate Footage
Kumasi-based Kessben Media has asked one of its presenters, DJ Kwadwo Adu, popularly known as DJ K.A, to stay off duty following the circulation of a viral video involving him in what the company described as a sexually compromising situation.
The media organisation said it has also launched an internal investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the appropriate next course of action.
“Kessben Media has become aware of the circulation on social media platforms of a video involving its staff in a sexually compromising situation. The Management of Kessben Media wants to state clearly that the company does not condone such acts… The company disassociates its brand, associates, assigns, agents, employees and followers from the actions of the staff member involved,” the company said in a statement issued on Friday, July 24.
The company added that it would provide the presenter with counselling, rehabilitation and legal assistance where necessary to help him deal with the trauma arising from the incident.
“In the interim, the staff involved has been made to stay off duty and to submit to the inquest. He will also be assisted to undergo the necessary attention to enable him overcome the ensuing trauma. The attention will include counselling, rehabilitation and legal assistance where necessary,” the statement added.
Kessben Media further appealed to the public to refrain from sharing the video, citing the sensitive nature of the material, cyber security concerns and existing laws governing the possession and circulation of explicit content.
The company also urged the media to avoid linking the Kessben brand to the incident while investigations are ongoing, stressing its commitment to professionalism, ethical standards and restoring public confidence.
Earlier, DJ K.A issued a public apology, taking full responsibility for recording the video and expressing regret over the embarrassment caused to his family, employer, colleagues, fans and the general public.
He, however, rejected reports suggesting he intentionally circulated the footage, saying he did not want misinformation to overshadow the facts.
