The Leadership The NPP Needs In The Northern Region To Reignite And Rekindle The Spirit Of The Party

As we prepare to elect Regional Officers for our beloved Party, the NPP, to serve and steer its affairs towards the 2028 election, the Northern Region stands at a defining moment.

This election is not just about positions. It is about the future of our Party in the Northern Region. It is about whether we will go into 2028 united, energized, and ready to win.

Unquestionably, our Party's triumph in 2028 will depend on the quality of leadership that will be elected from August 15 to 16, 2026, by our elected Constituency Executives and appointees.

Presently, the dwindling spirit of the Party in the Northern Region needs to be reignited. The fire of unity, hard work, and commitment needs to be rekindled.

THE CALIBRE OF LEADERSHIP WE NEED

On the above, it is imperative for us to collectively give the mandate to a calibre of leadership ready to serve with honesty and integrity. Not leadership that seeks to be served, but leadership that serves.

The Northern Region needs leadership that embodies the following 4 key leadership competencies;

1. Unifying Leadership

The NPP in the Northern Region needs leaders who see beyond camps and factions. Leaders who will bring everyone on board after the election with a united front geared towards victory in 2028.

2. Grassroots-Centered Leadership

To our elected Constituency Executives and appointees: you were given the mandate to serve. Therefore, it's incumbent on you to choose what the grassroots need, not your own parochial interest. So, choose leaders who will go back to the polling stations, who will resource electoral area committee members, and who will empower the youth and women's wings.

3. Visible and Hardworking Leadership

The Party at this crucial moment needs leaders who will be present in every constituency. Leaders who will communicate effectively with the Party's ideals and policies to the understanding of the people, and the activities of the Party must be felt every day, not only in election year.

4. Strategic and Winning Leadership

Indeed, our quest to recapture power in the 2028 election starts now. Therefore, we need leadership that plans early, mobilizes resources, and executes with discipline. Leadership that treats every seat in the Northern Region as winnable.

For clarity, I write this piece without malice or ill intent, but with an open mind focused on the success of the Party moving forward.

Significantly, this is a call to all Constituency Executives/delegates. Your vote on August 15 or 16, 2026 is not for an individual. It is a vote for the future of the NPP in the Northern Region.

Simply put, choose leaders who are poised to work tirelessly and diligently. Choose leaders who will reignite the energy of our grassroots. Choose leaders who will rekindle the love and unity that made the NPP strong.

In Summary, the Northern Region has delivered for the NPP before. With the right leadership, the Northern Region will deliver again.

Let us elect leaders who will unite us.
Let us elect leaders who will serve us.
Let us elect leaders who will win with us.

May the Almighty Allah guide our decisions. May the spirit of the NPP in the Northern Region be reignited and rekindled.

Long live NPP!

Shalom!
