Accra Airport Terminal 3 car park to be relocated for seven-storey facility project

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced the temporary closure of the existing Terminal 3 car park at the Kotoka International Airport from Monday, July 20, 2026, to allow for the construction of a new seven-storey multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex.

In a public notice issued on Thursday, July 16, the company said the closure would affect airport users and stakeholders as construction works on the new facility commence.

To minimise disruptions and ensure continued access to parking services, GACL said it has completed the development of a Terminal 3 Car Park Annex, which will be used during the construction period.

The annex has a capacity of more than 600 vehicles and will provide parking space for passengers, visitors and other airport users while the existing facility remains unavailable.

“To ensure continued parking availability, GACL has constructed the Terminal 3 Car Park Annex, which has a capacity of 600+ vehicles and will serve the general public during this period,” the company stated.

GACL added that parking attendants would be stationed at the annex to assist motorists and guide them through entry and exit procedures.

The closure is part of efforts to expand airport infrastructure through the construction of the seven-storey multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex, which is expected to enhance facilities at Terminal 3.

The company has appealed to passengers, visitors and other airport users for their cooperation and understanding during the transition period.
