Fire Service Team rescues three-year-old boy from drowning at Nkawkaw

A three-year-old boy has been rescued from drowning by the Nkawkaw Fire Station Visibility Team during a community engagement exercise at Nkawkaw Kwamang.

In a statement, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the team noticed the child in distress in a stream near Access Pub and Restaurant while engaging with the facility’s Chief Executive Officer, Madam Asantewaa.

The officers immediately responded and managed to rescue the boy from the water, preventing what could have been a tragic incident.

The GNFS said the intervention highlights the importance of its visibility programmes and demonstrates the Service’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives not only during emergencies but also through routine community engagements.
