The donation, which forms part of his efforts to provide immediate assistance to affected residents, included essential relief items aimed at helping families recover from the impact of the disaster.
Speaking during the exercise, Samuel Owusu Amankwaa expressed his deep concern about the extent of damage caused by the floods, describing the situation as shocking and heartbreaking after personally engaging with affected residents and assessing the challenges they faced.
He noted that beyond providing immediate relief, there was a need to identify and address the underlying causes of the recurring flooding within the constituency to prevent similar situations in the future.
“After visiting some of these areas and seeing the impact of the floods firsthand, I was deeply touched by the experiences of residents. Families have lost valuable belongings, and many are going through difficult moments. This calls for urgent attention and a collective effort to find lasting solutions,” he said.

He assured residents that he would engage with the appropriate institutions to highlight the challenges identified and work towards practical interventions that will improve drainage systems, reduce flood risks and protect communities within the constituency.
“We must move beyond responding only when disasters happen. We need to understand the causes of these challenges, engage the relevant authorities and work together to implement sustainable solutions for our communities,” he added.
