Election 2028: An Open Letter To Dr. Bawumia Over “What Tomas Said in A Pub”

Dear Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia,
Do not belabour which Tomas and what he might have said in a Beer Bar bother you. This particular “What Tomas Said in A Pub” was a poem composed by a member of the Irish Literary Renaissance, James Stephen (1882-1950) which thematically depicted how even a sinner can experience God. Tomas, a drunkard in the poem, had claimed to have seen God resting his hand on a mountain with his beard swung by wind. The experience by Tomas was questioned by many judging from his sinful nature and the location he had narrated his encounter with God, in a Pub. According to Michael Osei Philo, perhaps, Tomas might have crushed several glasses of wine which catapulted him into a state of gaga and berserk to make such claim. Because, a man who purports to have held the frog by its tail, is either making fun of honesty or mockery of the truth. But Tomas audaciously claimed to have not only seen God, but prevented him from destroying the earth out of distress due to the multitudinous wrongdoings by mankind he saw in the world.

Whether this divine encounter by Tomas was accurate or he was relating a language of wine and a more cock and bulll story, one thing that can be taking away from Tomas is that God listens and shows mercy to even persons of inequity. And he could have actually met the creator.

Like Tomas in the pub, Your Excellency, I have personally also experienced and seen God several times. About seven times. But my difference with Tomas is that as a young man I have made a promise to my Maker never to use three substances in my life: a condom, “drugs”, and alcohol. And my encounter with God was in a dream not in a Beer Bar.

For example, I once saw in a dream and God was narrating to me how Prophet Musah (Moses) wanted to see Him. And God told me, “and I told him (Moses) you can’t see me; and he said he wants to see Me, and said you can’t see me; and he said he wanted to see Me, and I said if you can see this little part of Me then you can see Me.” And as God was narrating to me, He actually wanted to show me that little part He wanted to show to Moses. I retorted, “I don’t want to see! I don’t want to see!; that was what Moses saw and became a poor man. I don’t want to be poor.”

In that dream, I later saw some very black and ugly creature flying two winged. And it suggested that God made me to see Satan in its real form.

There was another dream I saw and I was in a company with God, Angel Gabriel (Jibril), and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We were discussing something I forgot when I woke up. In that dream, the Prophet and the Angel looked alike but they were celestial beings different from humans. I asked them how does God listen to every conversation. They told me to go and bow down a certain location and ask God Himself. As I was getting to that location, I woke up.

Again, there was another dream I saw and Allah (God) told me that someone wanted me dead and He asked me: “do you want to die now?” That someone was a family member. But I told God, “I don’t want to die now!” in quick succession till I woke up.

Yet, there was one dream I saw and another family member again afflicted me with stroke. When I woke up it was in a Masjid (Mosque) I was sleeping in. I had dozed off after the Dawn prayer and saw that dream. I didn’t get up; while lying down as I was awake, I began reciting Ayatol Kursi then I slept again and the dream continued. In the part two of the same dream, God gave me something and said to me, “return what she did to you back to her”. I waved my hand in a similar manner she did to me, and she began rolling on the ground like whirlwind then I woke up. That family member sneaked to Gambaaga to seek treatment for some undisclosed alien ailment then she was brought back to Tamale Teaching Hospital and she died three days later. It was simply reality God had made me to see in a dream which happened three days later when that woman died.

Then there was one dream I saw which was related to you Dr. Bawumia. In that dream, God took something to me from a close SRC presidential contender I contested the 2018 SRC elections at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST with and said to me: “it was yours and he took it”. The political slogan of that SRC candidate was “It Is Possible”. And I will soon come back to this last dream I encountered God.

God is not human or anything describable. He has no shape nor color and there was no leg or arm or head I saw. It was like blank presence. Therefore, I am not Tomas even though I am sinful just as any human.

As a result of these dreams I encountered God, other dreams I had turned out later to be true including other visions. And I have seen that unless you have done something urgent, you are not far from becoming the moder-day Shylock, a character in a Shakespearean play titled, “The Merchant of Venice” whose thirst for revenge made him a walking example of the Confucian wisdom that “a man who wishes to embark upon revenge must first dig two graves”.

But, In Sha Allah, with wisdom and application of intellect as an intellectual that you are, you shall not be the 21st century Merchant of Venice: Shylock.

In that play, “The Merchant of Venice”, Shylock lent Antonio money on behalf of Bassanio who wanted to mesmerize a certain young princess called Portia. The terms of conditions for lending the money included that Shylock shall cut a pound of flesh from Antonio’sbody if the date of payment elapsed. Shylock was a mortal enemy of Antonio and had sought for opportunity to destroy Antonio but unsuccessful. Borrowing him that money was therefore an opportunity to kill him. Hence, his cutthroat condition to cut a pound of flesh of Antonio’s body in case he couldn’t settle the debt on time.

Antonio’s shipment was to arrive in a month time from the sea, and the date of payment of the debt was in three months time. A reason he accepted the terms of condition for borrowing from Shylock to help his friend Bassanio to marry the most beautiful princess.

However, as fate will have it, the shipments got missing at sea and didn’t arrive the time he envisaged. Shylock took the matter to court and demanded that a pound of flesh be cut from Antonio’s body. Antonio’s lawyers offered to pay three times what was borrowed but Shylock insisted on cutting his pound of flesh.

Revenge! Enmity! Hatred.
Antonio’s lawyers finally agreed but asked the court to ensure that Shylock cuts his pound of flesh from Antonio’s body without any spill or drop of blood. Meanwhile, the reason why Shylock insisted on cutting Antonio’s body, was to bleed him to death.

With the new condition put to Shylock, he decided to retreat but the lawyers of Antonio stood their grounds that he must cut his pound of flesh without dropping blood. He offered to forgo the entire debt and withdraw the case entirely but Antonio’s lawyers won’t accept. They also pointed out that it was against the law for a denizen to threaten the life of a Venetian citizen. Antonio was a citizen of Venice. In situation like that, lawyers of Antonio argued, the denizen's wealth is shared equally between the state and the citizen whose life has been threatened. The court therefore ruled that all the assets of Shylock be confiscated and shared equally between Antonio and the State. Consequently, Shylock walked out of the court not only losing the case, his money owed by Antonio but he also lost all his wealth half of which was given to Antonio.

Your Excellency, please, I beg for your undivided attention. Pay attention as I take you into a bit of the metaphysical realm as far as your political destiny in Ghanaian political experimentation is concerned. You can’t afford to step into the shoes of Shylock.

In our northern traditional parlance, mind you, it is said that a man who tells the truth does not have to remember anything again, and that, silence is golden and the man who remains silence has nothing to prove later. But I couldn’t be silent because according to Martin Luther King Jr, “sometimes silence is tantamount to betrayal of justice, truth, and the milk of human kindness. It was in this same light Bill Cosby also said that “not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts.” The ability to strike the fine balance between observing silence and breaking silence is golden for the good of the whole of mankind. Nobody like that must be punished.

I publicly write you this epistle not to apologize, not to seek sympathy nor favor but to fulfill a prophecy in visions I see long before I became your imaginary enemy with the venom and quinine of my pen when I wrote numerous articles against your government. The reason for this open letter then is to politely admonish you to distance yourself from the shoes of Shylock by taking the road not taken by many politicians in our African political dispensation. Forgiveness. Kindness to those who don’t deserve it. Avoidance of revenge and to stomach the itchy attempt to use political power to witch hunt political opponents. This is your weapon as you journey to the “promised house” of the Jubilee House if you must win the next election. Whatever you can do to plead with Alan Kyeremanten to collapse his political party for the NPP to be redeemed, please do. Call every offended or suspended member of the party who either stormed out or banished from the party.

And you have to forgive my writings against you as well. I will tell you why soon.

Believe you me, everything I am telling you in this letter is the whole truth and nothing else. Aside the dreams, there are certain visions I see in a form of suggestions to my heart so powerful that they usually take over all four chambers of my heart.

For example, there was one dream I saw and I was in a grave with a companion. My shroud was around my chest like the way pilgrims use the Ihram cloth during Hajj (the white cloth pilgrims at Hajj wear). This grave companion of mine showed me certain heads of animals he wanted to bury in my grave with me. They were about four of them: a sheep’s head, goat’s head, a pig’s head, and a certain animal’s head with only one long horn in the center of the head. Before I could say anything, he began digging around the grave from outside while inside the grave with me to bury the heads. As he was burying them he cracked a joke and said, “if these animals shall going to raise you dust on day of judgement, it won’t be easy”. Then he chuckled. I got up in the grave and said, “Oh Allah, I thought You have forgiven my sins, why is he burying these heads of animals in my grave as a punishment?” Then I saw Allah written in Arabic with lightening in the sky and a voiceless voice said to me: “it is not a punishment, We want you to keep them with you. They shall be a feast before you enter Paradise on the day of judgement and you shall provide the meat for the feast by presenting these animals”. And since this dream, many of my visions I see come to me in that voiceless voice God spoke to me in the grave, although in reality. But majority of them come in dreams when I am asleep.

And I must admit that many dreams have interpretations, only few appear to be the exact thing one sees in the dream. Again, I must remind you, as a Muslim, that not all dreams are fever-induced ones or as a result of the activities of the subconscious mind working on you as you dream dreams. Our Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), is reported to have categorized dreams into two main ones. One category from Allah, and the other from the devil. Those dreams that are good dreams come from God, and terrifying dreams that often wake the dreamer up with sweaty palms and agitating heart are inspired by the demons (Shayateen). A dream could be bad but its meaning is good in reality and the vice versa. Which means until a dream is interpreted, what you have seen may not be exactly in reality. For example, if you dream and you’re being carried like a king, it might be that you are going to die. Because a dead body is carried and a king is also carried in a palanquin.

Moving on, you had realized that I became a thorn in the flesh of the government of the New Patriotic Party, your party, as vice president when I wrote the most poisonous and contemptuous articles against you and your government, especially your boss, the former President, Akufo Addo (may he live long in good health). I have no regrets that I had deployed the foulest of language to address your government.

But didn’t it surprise you that a vulnerable and defenceless young man like me could have the effrontery to descend upon your nerves with such derogatory and vituperative language if I wasn’t Tomas in a Pub? It was because of these dreams and some of these visions I pointed out that emboldened me.

I had seen in a dream and you as vice president gave two calabashes to me by putting something in one of them and closed it with the other and said to me: “let’s go”. And that was when you took over power in 2017. Before that dream, I saw one dream long time ago and I was sworn in as president of Ghana. I raised the sword and it was so heavy that it tilted my hand and a certain Muslim cleric in Savelugu came and helped me hold it straight.

When I came to the university, I met a certain elderly person in the university at KNUST. I later unnecessarily developed interest in his daughter whom he said was your wife’s friend. And that was after I told him about these dreams. He actually wanted me with the daughter but when I realized the relationship was becoming serious, I did prayer of consultation called “Istikhara” to either consolidate or dismiss the relationship with her. After I did the prayer, I saw in a dream and the daughter was impregnated by someone and the father aborted the baby. Some beings purported to be angels in the dream said to me: “you see, the daughter has been impregnated and he aborted it. Meanwhile you said you want a virgin.” Initially, I didn’t care about the veracity of whether the daughter has been impregnated or not although it turned out to be true. I just thought the dream was indication that marriage union between us wasn’t good. The father did everything to get me back to her and I refused. He told me that sometimes rejecting certain things in one’s life could mean losing everything. Basically, he was literally suggesting I will lose everything in my life for rejecting the daughter.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. He was a well known lecturer and a Malam for the NPP, he told me. He was also a Patron for many Students' organizations on campus. The guy whom I earlier spoke about that I contested the KNUST SRC president with, was Vice President for Ghana Muslim Students' Association (GMSA) and the Personal Relations Officer (PRO) for one of the Associations on campus which this Malam was a Patron of (name of Association with held). This my contender from the Muslim fraternity specifically wanted me to step down for him to run because it wasn’t politically expedient or smart for two candidates to come from one constituency which was the Muslim community. I rejected the idea on grounds that our community wasn’t populous enough to determine an SRC president. Besides, it wasn’t all Muslims who were prepared to vote a Muslim candidate; many Muslim students were campaign managers for other candidates who were non-Muslims. He went and told this said Malam about my refusal. Obviously, I was expecting a call from him so that I could explain myself, but to my surprise he never called. Then I later saw through my visions that my contender cast a magic spell on me. But whether it was through the assistance by the Malam or not I didn’t know. I confronted him about it and we both laughed about it because I never took it seriously even though I was later disqualified when my running mate strangely stepped down. Then about three or two years later after graduation in 2019, I saw in that dream and God took something back from him to me and said it was mine and he took it. What that thing was I didn’t know but I had realized that when you became the Flag bearer of the NPP, you took his political slogan he used during our SRC presidential election verbatim. “It Is Possible”. Which means, it was the reason he wanted me to step down for him by hook or crook so that you could use his slogan. My partnership with you which I saw in the dream was what he wanted to snatch from me spiritually through the assistance of the Malam whose daughter I rejected. And clearly, it was what God took back from him to me and said it was mine and he took it. And the dream which I saw earlier and you gave me the two calabashes, suggested you and I were destiny partners. Which means, you took the wrong slogan from the wrong person unknowingly or knowingly. Largely because I was writing against you and your government! A reason why you loss the election so miserably.

But I was writing against you on purpose I thought you knew about until later.

Fast forward, I later saw in another dream and a certain prominent professor whom you know was getting a certain lady married to me and a certain coded name was mentioned to me as her name. And before this dream, there was one dream I saw and the death of the father of the lady I was personally seeing or dating at the university, was due to the envy of the one whose daughter I rejected. In that dream, the prominent professor whom I later saw in a different dream and he was getting a different lady married to me with the coded name, was bedridden and was covered with a black and white cloth. I went and told him about it and he never said anything. Then I went to his friend who was also a professor in the university and told him about the same dream. He told me that such a girl with that coded name really exist but something is blocking it (spiritually) and so I should keep praying when God removes that obstacle we can marry. I was very curious to meet the girl because of the circumstances surrounding the whole issue. Through a colleague of mine who was always in touch with that professor, I was shown a certain girl as the one I saw in the dream. However, I saw in a new dream that it wasn’t it wasn’t the one shown me but someone else. Then I later saw in another different dream that if me and the girl I saw in the dream are not getting married, former president Mahama will lose the election 2024.

Meanwhile, before all this dreams unfolded, someone gave me your phone number around 2013 and told me that you shall need me one day. I was in Senior High School then and a Senior Prefect or the Head Boy in my school. I texted you SMS and told you about it but you never replied me. It was few years later when I went to the university and in my level 200 in 2017 I saw that dream and you gave me the calabashes. But around that time I also saw that I should write against you in order to be your friend. Again, I texted you SMS about it and you didn’t reply. Then I started the writing anyway with explosive language hoping that the vulgarity could easily catch your attention but to no avail. Then I went to the Tamale Mayor at the time, Honorable Iddrisu Musah Superior, and told him about it but I never narrated everything because he was in hurry and I also thought it was premature to disclose everything like that. I had asked him to inform you about it whether you were aware of me or some spiritual arrangements like that involving a young man you shall need one day.

I was the last person Hon. Superior met and hurried to catch a flight to Accra to your office. He assured me he will mention me to you and see whether you knew about something like that. I came back to Kumasi at KNUST, I never went back to Tamale and met him and every text message I sent him never caught his attention. I took it that you had deliberately ignored me. Because, I had personally called you several times, aside the text messages, mostly on Sundays around 4pm to 6pm. You had picked up some of my calls but always told me on three occasions that you were at a meeting and will call me back later. You never did. And the polite and conscious manner you had always replied me made me believe you were aware. Hence, I must keep writing against you. I kept the writing and intensifying the rude words. But I never saw response. Instead, I began seeing dreams and you and the NPP were plotting to assassinate me. In those visions, you and Akufo Addo had hired assassins to come and kill me. However, God saved me because I saw some of the assassins stopped by heavy storms, some involved in car accidents on the way, some loss their loved ones which traumatized and diverted their attention from me. The final two blows were the covid-19 which God had used to save me from your assassins through my visions. And the last one involved about three urvans (mini buses) full of thugs you hired to come and kill me. But as they were shooting at me the bullets never entered or penetrated me. In fact, I had explained to them that God has chosen me to write against you because of something you did to Mahama and Ghana so they should not kill me. Some of them listened and left others decided to kill me but the bullets won’t enter me. I had three guns in that dream and was able to kill all those who didn’t listen to my plea.

Those dreams made me believe that you were no longer a friend I have to write in order to become your friend. Instead, you now wanted me killed which was why the NDC was to marry that lady for me I saw the other dream.

And indeed, I saw that you did something wrong to Mahama and the NDC that warranted my opposition to you. Through my own investigations, I had realized that you didn’t have a case in 2012 when you went to the supreme Court calling for the annulment of the 2012 presidential election; I also discovered that you, the NPP, had created DUMSOR (intermittent power outages) or at least, you increased its intensity in order to get Mahama out of office; and I had also realized that the incompetent tag you dumped upon president Mahama relying on exchange rate and cedi depreciation, was bogus and very wicked propaganda. It could also be something else you might have done. Be that as it may, Allah didn’t want you to get away with it. And it is because of the same fouls you committed against the NDC which make you the only best bet to bring back the NPP to power. Just like my foul language became a bulwark against what the NDC would have done to me, and because I have been saved, you are back to become president. On condition though. Forgiveness.

On the exchange rate issue, you knew that money is no longer money; it had become fiat currency in 1971 when former president Richard Nixon delinked the dollar from being backed by gold. As you know, money is anything backed by something of value to be used as a medium of exchange for buying or payment of goods and services. Without anything like gold backing money, it becomes mere paper! In 1945, after the second World War, in New Hampshire, the US dollar was selected as a global currency linked to gold and all other monies of countries were linked to the dollar. That arrangements made money valuable, but when the dollar was delinked from gold, every money became FIAT CURRENCY which means money was now backed by political decrees and not by anything valuable like gold. As a result, the value of money keeps depreciating especially in economies dependent on importation like Ghana. Therefore, it was unfair to accuse Mahama of incompetence simply because of cedi depreciation. A reason why God has punished your government and had allowed the cedi to depreciate uncontrollably. Even though the NDC had used sorcery or voodoo to cause the cedi depreciation under the NPP, God had permitted it. It was in the same context I saw that I should write against you in order to be your friend despite the dreams which suggested you are a friend and destiny helper, partner or soulmate.

However, the attempts to assassinate me or spiritually attack my honor had made me a permanent supporter of the NDC on condition to marry that girl I saw in the dream, but they had also violated and betrayed it. Either by delay or denial. Because, it was your presidency Allah will give to Mahama for sabotaging his government with white lies and economic propaganda but for some wicked reasons, the NDC through those professors on campus of KNUST, had decided to snatch that my destiny to become president of Ghana one day which I saw in a dream stated earlier in addition to your presidency as well. That would have made Mahama go for a third term if I agree to it by accepting a Master’s degree, a possible PhD abroad and a different lady as wife and not the one I saw. But that will leave a social disfigurement or scar on my forehead never to take a leadership role because they have slandered me a thief. And because of this change of the arrangements, I must aslo have to wait till you are completely destroyed alongside the NPP before they can marry the changed girl for me which probably explains why they have not been able to get us married.

Regarding the total collapse of the NPP, I saw in a dream and the current Asantehene died meanwhile I am native of Kumawu. In the dream, some northerners drove farm Tractor in a reverse and ran over him against a wall and made some dastardly remarks that he (Asantehene) has been disturbing them.

The immediate interpretation for that dream was that there will be an end to an era, and the second meaning is that you the dreamer will lose something precious. The end to the era depicted the era of NPP as it was Asantehene of Asantes of Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the NPP, who died in a dream seen by a grandchild of one famous Asante chief called Twuneboa Kodua of Kumawu. The precious thing I was going to lose was the lady they were going to marry for me as well as my presidency. And before they could achieve that they had to label me what I am not through a slandering me a thief by using sorcery or magic where someone impersonated me or use my image or form to commit a theft. And they are spreading it around in order to tarnish my image. And as image is being soiled, it affects your political image and hence your destiny to become the president. Because, for not marrying the girl I saw for me despite the writing against you and for them, they lost even your presidency God will have given them when you decided to attack or ignore me and instead chose a different guy who was my contender. A reason why you are back in the ring but on condition to do for me what they didn’t do which is the same thing you were supposed to do had you allowed me to oppose you in peace with the writing. Note that it is the writing I did for them which has come to our rescue. I suffered two forms of undeserving injustice for it. First, you who I was writing against in order to become your friend hurt me indirectly and when they had the opportunity to help me against you, they also hurt me despite supporting them.

Now, I saw two years earlier that Mahama was going to win by 57% in the presidential election. But after he won, before the swearing in, I saw in one dream and locusts (grasshoppers in their millions) took over Ghana but they were not affecting me. An indication there was trouble ahead for violating the condition which led to seeing your percentage if you must win 2028 election. In Sha Allah, you shall win 56℅. Yes, something disgraceful is going to hit the government to create that room. It’s coming; to be averted by none.

That has a link to the black Wednesday the helicopter crashed which claimed the lives of eight government officials of the NDC. I saw in a dream that Wednesday dawn and the Angel of death came to take my life. I greenlighted him. He was whole light like the shape of a concrete pillar. As he was taking my soul, I was saying the “Kalima”. I said it three times before the soul finally left my body. But I told God to return me to earth so that my enemies don’t win. I believed it was that request I made which saved me that fateful Wednesday dawn; I was going to die. Recall from the beginning of this letter I mentioned God asked me whether I wanted to die now because a family member wanted me dead and I said I didn’t want to die? That “I didn’t want to die now” was also the reason I didn’t die that fateful Wednesday dawn. I woke up confused as what kind of dream was that and the Angel of death took my soul. And then came the breaking news with headlines that helicopter with government officials experienced hard landing when I came online.

Now, before the crash in August 2025 last year, I had seen in a dream several times before the 2020 election and a plane crashed with government officials releasing a plump of smoke. But because I believed you had become an enemy, I thought it was going to be you or Akufo Addo and other government officials. And I actually wished it had been you. Which means, God had changed the destiny of you and Akufo Addo. Which was why I was leading you and Akufo Addo in the other dream. Hence, your come back as a presidential candidate. You were never going to win the flag bearership of the NPP.

It also means, if I had actually died that morning or dawn when the angel of death took my life in that dream, the helicopter wasn’t going to crash. Which means, President Mahama either had vanished from the helicopter or he escaped boarding it by the skin of his teeth. He was supposed to be in that helicopter crash. Because, I saw that he was going to be killed for what he did to me. And that vision came when a Japanese former prime minister was shot and killed around 2021.

Be that as it may, the ball is now in your court; I have seen your version of the lady you are supposed to marry for me because they have violated the condition. But they keep intensifying the narrative that I am a thief in the vicinity where I live so that the girl or her parents might not accept. Luckily, they have also been waiting for a young man whose features they shall identify him with are alse accusations of thefts.

In my estimation, yours now is to simply get us married as a gesture of not holding any grudges against me and sign of forgiveness. And to also unlock a hidden treasure I saw in a dream somewhere in Ghana. You can’t access it if you don’t do what is required of you. You would also be needed to use my Political Slogan during the KNUST SRC presidential election in 2018. It was, “I See A New KNUST”. And the reply was, “Can You See It?” Yours should be “I See A New Ghana”.

I am afraid you must have to dump “It Is Possible” for “I See A New Ghana”.

Unless you wish to become modern-day Shylock of Venice. The choice is yours.

Meanwhile, I have forgiven Mahama and the NDC if they had actually done that to me. God has changed me a direction by using their mistakes.

Yours faithfully,
Abdul Hakeem (Owusu Opoku James) Iddrisu
