GNFS recovers body of 11-year-old boy from drowning incident at Adenta Aviation
Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy who drowned at Adenta Aviation in the Greater Accra Region.
The deceased, identified as Samuel Awalime, was retrieved during a search and recovery operation carried out by personnel from the Adenta Fire Station.
According to the GNFS, firefighters responded swiftly after receiving a distress call about the incident and immediately launched efforts to locate the victim.
The operation, conducted on July 13, was led by Divisional Officer III (DO III) Obosu, who coordinated the rescue team with support from other emergency response agencies at the scene.
The Service said the multi-agency operation lasted several hours before the body of the young boy was successfully recovered.
Following the recovery, Samuel Awalime's body was handed over to the Adenta Divisional Police Command to assist with investigations into the circumstances that led to the drowning.
The GNFS has not disclosed how the incident occurred, stating that police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the tragedy.
