June 29 flood tragedy should remind all to prepare for Christ’s Second Coming – Evangelist Kofi Karikari
Seventh-day Adventist televangelist Evangelist Kofi Karikari has urged both Christians and non-Christians to view the recent devastating floods, which claimed several lives and properties as a solemn reminder to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Speaking during a one-day prophecy seminar at the Pankrono Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kumasi, Evangelist Karikari said the increasing occurrence of natural disasters is in fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
Quoting Luke 21:25, he explained that the Bible foretells that events such as floods, earthquakes, Tidal waves and other natural calamities would intensify as signs preceding the return of Christ.
He further referenced Revelation 7, stating that God has assigned four angels with responsibilities over the earth, and that certain events, including destructive floods, wildfire and natural disasters should serve as warnings for humanity to turn to God and prepare for His soon coming.
According to the evangelist, the recent flooding should not only be seen as a natural disaster but also as a spiritual wake-up call for people to abandon sinful lifeclasss, strengthen their faith, and live in readiness for the day of Christ’s return.
He, therefore, appealed to all Ghanaians, regardless of their religious background, to reflect on their lives, seek God, and embrace righteousness while there is still time.
On his part, Evangelist Joseph Anane, who led the programme, called on fellow evangelists and pastors to diligently study current events in the light of Scripture and boldly proclaim God’s message to the world.
According to him, the unfolding events across the globe are clear indications of the signs of the times, making it imperative for ministers of the Gospel to sound the alarm and prepare humanity for the second coming of Christ.
He emphasised that the greatest need of this generation is for believers to discern the prophetic signs of the times and faithfully warn people to be spiritually ready to meet the Lord.
