Dr. Stephen Appiagyei Donkor has been re-elected as Chairman of the NPP in the Techiman North Constituency following the party's constituency executive elections held on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Dr. Appiagyei Donkor, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of GIFAS Group of Companies and Managing Director of GLOBE TV, secured a convincing victory after polling 585 votes out of 999 valid votes cast by delegates.

His closest challenger, Kwadwo Adams Amo, obtained 360 votes, while Andrews Amoakohene garnered 51 votes.

The election also saw Kingsley Dartey emerge as Constituency Secretary, Ameyaw Paul Kwaku was elected as Organizer, Janet Pokuaa winning the Women Organizer position, and Gabriel Atta Ackah elected as Communications Officer.

Addressing party supporters after his victory, Dr. Appiagyei Donkor expressed gratitude to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen the party in the constituency.

"I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming mandate given to me by the delegates. This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every member of the New Patriotic Party in Techiman North. I thank everyone who supported my campaign and assure you that I will serve with commitment, fairness and dedication," he said.

The newly elected chairman called on members of the party to put the elections behind them and unite for the greater good of the NPP.

"The contest is over. It is now time for unity, stability and uniformity within our ranks. We must close our ranks, reconcile our differences and work together with one purpose if we are to recapture power from the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections," Dr. Appiagyei Donkor stated.

He also appealed to both victorious and unsuccessful candidates to demonstrate magnanimity and continue contributing to the growth of the party.

"There should be no winners or losers after this election. I urge all my brothers and sisters who contested to join hands with the new executives. Together, we can build a stronger and more united party capable of winning the confidence of the people."

Dr. Appiagyei Donkor further pledged to mobilize resources to support the activities of the constituency and empower party structures at all levels.

"I am committed to providing the necessary resources to strengthen our constituency, support our polling station executives and enhance our grassroots mobilisation. Together, we will build a formidable NPP that is fully prepared for victory in 2028."

Party supporters celebrated the outcome of the election, expressing optimism that the new leadership would reposition the Techiman North Constituency to play a key role in the NPP's efforts to reclaim power in the next general election.
