JHS student suffers deep cutlass wound after allegedly fondling colleague's breast

A Junior High School student is battling for his life after suffering a deep machete wound inflicted on him by a female colleague for allegedly touching her breast repeatedly during a campus clean-up exercise.

The 15-year-old JHS 2 female student of Assin Krofofrodo D/A Basic School in the Assin North District of the Central Region had repeatedly warned the victim against the act, but he defied the warning.

School authorities had instructed the students to weed the overgrown school compound using cutlasses. According to the girl’s account, the boy repeatedly played with and fondled her breasts while they were working.

According to the girl, she repeatedly warned the boy to stop touching and playing with her breasts. However, she alleged that the boy, who was determined to “take a feel” of her breasts, ignored her warnings and continued the inappropriate conduct.

Enraged by his actions, the girl picked up a cutlass and slashed the boy on his inner wrist.

The victim sustained a deep cutlass wound and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment after bleeding profusely.

The parents of the injured boy have accused the school authorities of negligence, alleging that they showed no concern after the incident occurred during school hours.

According to the parents, the authorities allegedly failed to take immediate action or rush the boy to the hospital after he sustained cutlass injuries.

They claim the boy was left unattended for some time despite bleeding profusely before his parent returned from the farm and eventually took him to the hospital for medical attention.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the elder sister of the victim, Joyce Enyan, called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the conduct of school authorities and their handling of the situation.

“He said a female colleague inflicted a cutlass wound on him while they were playing. He says he wrapped his arm around her neck and mistakenly touched her breast.

“The teachers didn’t pay much attention to him after the injury. He nearly passed out. His shirt was completely drenched with blood,” Joyce Enyan said.
