Over 20 Ghanaian Businesses to Be Honoured at Maiden National Platinum Excellence Awards

More than 20 Ghanaian businesses and companies are set to be honoured at the maiden edition of the National Platinum Excellence Awards in Accra.

The event, launched on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, seeks to celebrate visionary entrepreneurs, pioneering institutions, resilient brands, and long‑standing companies that have survived decades of economic and social change while contributing significantly to national development.

Speaking at the launch, CEO of Re‑Focus Experience Ghana Limited, Nii Saka Brown, said the Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards aims to identify, document, celebrate, and learn from Ghana’s most enduring organizations.

“The Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards presents a unique opportunity to celebrate Ghana’s corporate heritage, promote a culture of sustainability and long‑term thinking, inspire entrepreneurs to build businesses that endure, encourage strong governance and succession planning, and showcase Ghana’s business success stories,” he said.

He added that the awards also seek to preserve important aspects of Ghana’s economic history and position the country as a leader in celebrating corporate longevity and institutional excellence.

“These organizations have weathered political transitions, economic downturns, technological disruptions, leadership changes, and evolving market conditions. They continue to create jobs, generate wealth, support communities, and drive Ghana’s socio‑economic transformation,” he noted.

Mr. Brown explained that many businesses fail to survive due to poor management and weak succession planning, causing promising enterprises to collapse and take valuable lessons, jobs, and opportunities with them. However, he emphasized that others have thrived despite the challenges.

“Some organizations have survived for over 40, 50, 75, and even 100 years. These institutions have demonstrated remarkable resilience and offer valuable lessons for today’s entrepreneurs and future business leaders.”

CEO of Delish Restaurant, Mr. Yaw Sakyi, also urged corporate entities to support the flagship event, noting that its significance will positively impact indigenous Ghanaian businesses nationwide.

Organizers disclosed that nominations, vetting processes, and other measures to ensure a successful awards ceremony have already been outlined.
