Ekow Spio Garbrah is Ghana’s next NDC President!
Ghana’s quest for rapid socio-economic and political transformation depends on quality leadership in all facets of national life.
However, one most important leadership position that Ghanaians should, under no circumstance, not gamble with is the Governor of the Government of Ghana from January 7, 2029.
In November or December 2028, Ghana will go to the Polls without His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, whose second term as the Governor of Ghana ends on January 6, 2029.
The question, therefore, is who is the best or quality material that the National Democratic Congress (NDC)can offer themselves and Ghana as a whole?
The importance of the question of who leads the N.D.C. to become Ghana’s next President in January 2029 is a critical one that cannot, therefore, be underestimated.
Any error, miscalculation, indiscretion, recklessness, experimentation, self-serving interests or political expediency will cost the party and the state dearly.
I am very disappointed about the deliberate and unrelenting propaganda about the perceived presidential ambition and efforts towards the realisation of that ambition by Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the N.D.C.
I have heard Chairman, Nketia, several times on radio interviews insisting that it was too early for those with presidential ambitions to start working towards that goal because such competition or rivalry will fester unhealthy disputes that will disrupt government’s national development agenda and divert its focus to deliver on its mandate. According to Chairman Nietia, Any presidential aspirant will have to stand on the achievements and success of President Mahama to win the 2028 elections; hence, the party was not in a hurry to start hunting for President Mahama’s successor. To that effect, it will be absurd for Chairman Nketia to be engaged in the very conduct that he is warning against.
The ‘Thank You’ tours embarked upon by the N.D.C. Chairman cannot be regarded as a presidential ambition campaign exercise.
In fact, the ‘Thank You’ tours are a very important exercise that should have been undertaken by the party under the command and control of the National Chairman within three months after winning the elections and after the swearing-in of the President into office― and His Excellency the President, not Chairman Nketia, should rather take full responsibility for the separate and unending ‘Thank You’ tours and for the apparent broken front, which President Mahama is on record to have been cautioning against.
The response from Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, making a distinction between a proper and improper ‘Thank You’ tours was needless and not befitting of a presidential hopeful or aspirant who should be promoting party unity and cohesion.
That said, one giant with the attributes of a leader― Head of State, to be precise― in the N.D.C., whose name, fortunately, is not floating or featuring in Musa Danquah’s polls is Dr Ekow Spio Garbrah.
Dr Garbrah has, at least, twice unsuccessfully contested Presidential primaries, but wisely decided not to do so during the last presidential primaries which returned President Mahama to office for his second and last term.
I am certain and fully convinced that Dr Akow Spio Garbrah has the requisite credentials and is the most qualified and most competent presidential material in the N.D.C today.
the N.D.C. cannot afford the negative political consequences for party and country if Dr Ekow Spio Garbrah is not the choice of the N.D.C. for the 2028 Presidential Elections. Dr Ekow Spio Garbrah must go unopposed.
It is his turn. Eduro ni so!
