Kwahu Afram Plains North cattle market to be commissioned

The Kwahu Afram Plains North District is set to witness a major milestone in its agricultural and livestock development agenda with the official commissioning of the Kwahu Afram Plains North Cattle Market on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

The commissioning ceremony, scheduled for 10:00 a.m, will take place at Donkorkrom- Adeemra Road, opposite Star Oil Filling Station. The program is expected to bring together government officials, traditional leaders, farmers, livestock traders, and the general public.

The event will be graced by the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, and the District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo, alongside other distinguished guests. The modern cattle market would be officially inaugurated as part of the government's broader commitment to promoting agriculture, creating jobs, and strengthening rural economies.

The newly constructed cattle market is designed to provide a modern and organized trading environment for livestock farmers and dealers. It is expected to improve livestock marketing, facilitate commercial activities, enhance food security, and create new economic opportunities for residents of the district and surrounding communities.

The project represents a significant investment in the district's livestock sector and aligns with government efforts to expand agricultural infrastructure and improve livelihoods through increased access to markets.
