Ada West floods: Dr. Divine Agyemang-Lardey urges fair distribution of relief items

Dr. Divine Kabutey Agyemang-Lardey call on government, NGOs and philanthropists to ensure no flood-affected community in Ada West is left behind.

Dr. Divine Kabutey Agyemang-Lardey, founder of Inspire Them Foundation, has called on the Government of Ghana to ensure that all flood-affected communities in the Ada West District are included in ongoing relief and recovery efforts.

The appeal followed a visit by Dr. Agyemang-Lardey to several flood-hit communities on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, to assess the extent of the damage and interact with affected residents.

During the visit, he expressed concern over the widespread destruction caused by the floods, noting that many families had been displaced and were facing difficult living conditions.

He urged the government to ensure that relief items and any financial support earmarked for flood victims are distributed fairly and reach all deserving communities. He specifically appealed for the inclusion of Luhuor, Salom, Bonikope, Segese, Wokumagbe, Akplabanya, Anyamam, Kportitsekope and Kablevu in the relief exercise.

Dr. Agyemang-Lardey stressed that no affected community should be overlooked, calling for relief efforts to be timely, equitable and responsive to the needs of victims.

He also appealed to non-governmental organisations, corporate bodies, faith-based organisations, philanthropists and the general public to support affected communities by donating food, clothing, medicines, bedding and other essential relief items.

"This is a time for compassion and solidarity. Together, we can help our brothers and sisters recover from this unfortunate disaster. No affected community should be left behind," he said.

Dr. Agyemang-Lardey assured residents that he would continue to engage relevant stakeholders and advocate for support to ensure that assistance reaches those most affected by the floods.
